Today is my last day here at the Wyndham Resort at Nashville. I’m typing this on the front porch of their Amenity Center, which is nice. They have 3 pools here: 2 outdoor, one indoor. By the 3rd pool they have a pavilion with some picnic tables and a playground with basketball court. The indoor pool is accessible from the 2nd pool (outdoor) and the Amenity Center. In this Amenity Centerr they have WiFi access, 3 guest computers, popcorn, a movie rental machine, and a coffee machine. The WiFi is free and so are the guest computers, and the coffee and the popcorn. But, the movie rental machine is $6 per movie! That’s a crazy price for even a DVD rental! Everything is just too expensive here! The ice cream sales at one of the pools had to be changed from $2 to $1 because nobody would buy it for $2! And the Craft Hour…oh my gosh…$10 for a T-Shirt project. That’s gay. So, amenities is a 7.5 out of 10.

The room we have is sweet. A Visio 30-inch sits in the TV cabinet, and there are basic essentials: a stovetop oven, a conventional over, a microwave oven, a fridge, cabinets, silverware, and plates and bowls. There is 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a twin bed, a jacuzzi and, of course a shower and a toilet technically connected to the bedroom. The smaller bedroom has a bath/shower and 2 twin beds. I slept on the pullout couch, which was ok, but at least I got to watch on the Visio. The room is a 10 out of 10 here.

The service….not as good. My sister called the front desk to find out the unspecified location for the “Kids Club/Pool Games” activity. We got a message back saying that the location was located at the front desk. Whoa, stop. Ma’am, you are at the front desk. Why can’t you just tell us where it is instead of making us walk all the way to the Amenity Center just to see where a stupid pool games thing was when you are sitting at the same front desk where the location is stated? And the annoyances…calling at 8:30AM about some “evaluation” that you get $75 for taking an hour long survey to keep the resorts ratings up! They called every 4 hours to get us to schedule a time for it. We did do so, and ignored that we had to go there. I give service a 4 out of 10.

So, we have 75% rating for amenities, 100% for rooms, and 40% for service. The overall (averaged) rating is 71%. That is a C- on the school grading scale, but I don’t know how it works for reviews. On a Horrible to Excellent scale, I give it a “Good”.

Last night there was a servere thunderstorm. I caught some awesome thunder and lightning with my digital camera. I couldn’t use my DVD cam, unfortunatley, only because I didn’t have a (good) disc.

Today, people on McInTEC’s vent were telling me that everything is laggy. I’m on an ethernet connection typing this, only because I’ve discovered that 2Wire wireless routers suck. My signal seems all ok, but for some reason I keep pinging out from the router. I moved it in the basement today, and, as it never has, it caused me tons of problems. I then moved into the family room, near the phone system. Believe it or not, as my Mini was diagonal from the router. It still was bad. I had to move the router back into my room and even connect the ethernet to my Mac I’m thinking about getting a new router. But I have so many other things I want on my list, that I don’t know what I’m going to do. In fact, you can watch an interpretation of this:

I twittered tonight about a good idea I had. The basic idea is that you could cut an unused 12V DC output plug and solder the correct ends to an ATX power supply output. Now, you would have a 12V DC output plug to power a small, desktop speaker system, for example. Now, you would need more voltage on the output plugs to power any LCD monitor. But that will not happen anytime soon.

Most people do it everyday. They do this. There is always the mystery lingering of what the effects of it are. There are many answers out there, but they are different. I’m gonna go on a search to find some answers.

For starters, I found a little answer on WikiAnswers. It says:

“It is not normally dangerous to leave a cellphone charger plugged in to the mains unless it has been damaged. However, as the transformer and circuit within the charger normally dissipate small amounts of heat as a result of being connected to the mains supply it is considered to be wasteful of electricity (and thereby damaging to the environment) to leave it plugged in and switched on when it is not required to charge the cellphone.”

This answer obviously applies to the house circuit, but it does apply to a car circuit as well. It seems, however, the main point people seem to be making is all heat related. Like here, on the iLounge forums. RAMd on this forum says this:

“Yes, you can leave the charger plugged into the wall. It probably won’t make much difference in the life span of the charger. Just make sure that it’s not covered somehow so that it gets too warm.”

So, this concludes that, even though the amount of power used by that small charger that isn’t charging, it might mean that the battery will dissipate very little heat, but it will still release some heat, and even the smallest amount of heat can start a fire. It’s obviously best that you don’t leave the charger last night.

On Friday, after computer club at my school, I wasn’t feeling to well. Turned out, I had a fever. I laid down on the chaise lounge in my parent’s bedroom. I watched Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel (mondays at 9pm eastern!).

The most interesting part about all this was that my mom was having high school friends over. So, of course, she did not cancel. Anyways, it was now Saturday at, like 2PM, and the first guests arrived. They came with a 12 year old, so I was covered. At 7PM, the rest of the guests came (with a 13 year old girl, my age. She’s hot too). It was then when the party was officially “fun”.

Next day, I felt sick again, and just laid in my bed in the basement for 2 hours. I woke up with a viral rash and I didn’t go to church. Woo. Then, on Monday, I didn’t go to school because of the rash. I stayed on the computer almost the whole day. On Tuesday, I didn’t go again. Today (wednesday), I went to school WITH a viral rash.

I was relieved that nobody at all noticed that I had the rash. I think it was a life saver that nobody noticed the dotty rash. I’m glad I survived.
